Rolls-Royce Holdings plc (Rolls-Royce) has signed an agreement with Siemens AG (Siemens) to sell its energy gas turbine and compressor business for a £785m ($1.32 billion) cash consideration. After completion of the deal, Siemens’ energy division will have 100% ownership of Rolls-Royce’s aero-derivative gas turbine and compressor business. The joint portfolio will enable Siemens to pursue significant growth opportunities in decentralized power generation and oil and gas sectors and Rolls-Royce to focus on more profitable branches of its business.
