The petrochemical industry witnessed few activities in July, with most news coming from China and the US. In China, Evonikís hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) plant started production to supply to the Jishen Chemical (Jishen) Propylene Oxide (PO) plant and Ningbo Haiyue New Material started its Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) plant in Ningbo. In the US, Air Liquide awarded a contract to Natgasoline to supply oxygen for its methanol plant in Beaumont, Texas. Cobalt Technologies also signed an agreement with Andritz to integrate its n-butanol production technology with Andritzís pre-treatment systems.

In Oman, Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries (Orpic) awarded multiple contracts for its US$3.6 billion Liwa Plastic Project (LPP) in Al Sohar. In Brazil, Braskem awarded a contract to SGS to provide services related to maintenance shutdowns for its petrochemical plant in Maua.
