Summary

The country is active in the field of wind and solar electricity. An hybrid solar power plant was commissioned in 2010. Several hundred MW of solar and wind capacity will be installed in the coming years for which ONE and MASEN, the new Maroccan Agency for Solar Agency, will launch several tenders in the coming years.

Whereas Morocco’s electricity demand is increasing, Africa’s total energy production slightly fell by around 2%. Again hydrocarbons producing countries of which Algeria and Nigeria were more largely impacted.
