Summary

Husky Energy Inc. (Husky) is an integrated oil and gas company involved in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas; the refining and transportation of crude oil and natural gas; and the manufacture of petroleum products. The company’s operations are primarily located in Canada, the US, China, Greenland, Taiwan, Indonesia and Libya, and its business is divided into two segments, upstream and downstream.

Upstream activities include the exploration, development and production of crude oil, Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) and natural gas; the marketing of crude oil, natural gas, NGL, sulfur and petroleum coke products of the company and other producers; pipeline transportation; the blending of crude oil and natural gas; and storage of crude oil, diluent and natural gas. The company’s upstream operations are primarily focused in Western Canada, the offshore east coast of Canada, offshore China, offshore Indonesia, and offshore Taiwan. The majority of the company’s producing assets are located in Canada. The company also has a significant presence in oil sands and has been producing bitumen through its Tucker project since 2006.

Downstream activities include, globally, the upgrading of heavy crude oil feedstock into synthetic crude oil; in Canada, the refining of crude oil, the marketing of refined petroleum products including gasoline, diesel, ethanol blended fuels, asphalt and ancillary products, and the production of ethanol; and in the US, the refining of primarily crude oil to produce and market gasoline, jet fuel and diesel fuels.
